This website is published by The Write Practice, the publisher of Scrivener Superpowers by M.G. Herron. This page explains what information the website collects when you visit, why, and what you can do about it. If you have questions or requests, you may email [email protected].
When you ask for the free template
You give your email address and, if you like, your first name, and the site emails you the download link.
Your email address and first name also go to ActiveCampaign, the service The Write Practice uses to send its emails (ActiveCampaign’s privacy policy: activecampaign.com/legal/privacy-policy). Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can ask for your details to be deleted at any time.
When you leave a comment
Your name, email address, website (if you give one) and comment are saved on this site, along with your IP address and browser details to help catch spam. Your email address is never shown. If you tick “Save my name”, your browser keeps your details in cookies for next time. Email if you’d like a comment removed.
Analytics
The site uses Google Analytics to see which pages people read and how they find the site: pages visited, the site you came from, your approximate location, and your device and browser. It sets cookies to do this. The reports show totals, not who you are. Google’s privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy. You can block Google Analytics with Google’s opt-out add-on or your browser’s privacy settings.
Links to Amazon and Scrivener
The book’s buttons go to Amazon, and the Get Scrivener link goes to Literature & Latte, both with an affiliate tag, so a small commission is earned if you buy. Amazon and Literature & Latte see that you came from here; this site sees nothing about your purchase.
Hosting and security
The site is hosted by Liquid Web and protected by Cloudflare. Like every website, their servers see your IP address and keep standard logs to keep the site running and secure.
What isn’t done
Your information is never sold or shared, and there are no ads on this site.
Your choices
You can unsubscribe from the emails at any time, and you can email [email protected] to see, correct or delete what the site has about you.
